For my piece, I imagined myself as a butterfly. I was fascinated by the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly and the parallels of metamorphosis and the pressure for perfection on social media. With this piece, I imagine myself as a butterfly moving through the stages of its life just like I am navigating my teens. In my imagination, colours like red and orange show strength, confidence, love and energy, while green shows freshness, balance, peace and growth. I like the contrast of colours and the use of the butterfly texture in the face. What I enjoy about my drawing is that everyone can interpret it differently and it speaks to them in different ways.
