Regarding your submission of an application to get involved with This Is Art!, this Terms & Conditions Policy (coupled with RTÉ’s Privacy Policy) describe how we collect and use personal information about you in accordance with data protection law.
Personal Data Collection and Use
This Policy outlines how the This Is Art team and the websites hosted by RTE ("we," "us," or "our") collect, use, and disclose personal data from users ("you" or "your") who access or use our websites ("Sites"). This Policy is in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
How we process your personal data:
Your full name, age, email address, date of birth, home address, school, parent’s/teacher’s name, the county where you live, copyright information, artists statement and judge’s opinions of your entry.
Purpose – To carry out the competition, verify that applicants meet the requirements to enter, and maintain an exhibition. This data will also be used to contact winners, provide you with information about the competition for as long as it is running and, with your separate consent, to contact you about similar opportunities in the future.
Legal basis - Consent: You or your parents/guardians have given us consent to process your personal data for the purposes stated above.
Duration – We will retain your personal data for as long as the competition is running, or until your consent is withdrawn, or for as long as required by law.
Note – Only selected super admins will have access to all of this information.
General admins and judges will only have access to your first name, age, artwork, parent’s/teacher’s name, county where you live, copyright information.
Only your first name, age, artwork, statement and county where you live will be displayed on our site.
Your photo and confirmation of proof of identity
Purpose – To verify your identity
Legal basis – Contractual necessity: In order to allow you to enter the competition, we must ensure that you meet the entry requirements.
Duration – Personal data will be deleted once identity verification has taken place.
Your date of birth
Purpose – To ensure we are meeting consent requirements.
Legal basis – Legal obligation: In order to ensure we are meeting consent requirements under Article 7 GDPR, we will ask if you would like to renew your consent to the processing of your data when you turn 18 years of age.
- Contractual necessity: To ensure that applicants meet the age requirements of competition entry.
Duration – Your date of birth will be retained until you turn 18 years of age.
Your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, clickstream data, time and date of visits to our Sites, and other similar information
Purpose - To improve our Sites and user experience.
Legal basis - Legitimate interests: The processing of your data is necessary to maintain and improve our site.
Duration - We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. We will securely delete or anonymize your personal data when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
Messages sent to us regarding the competition or technical issues
Purpose – To address any queries and fix any technical issues that may arise.
Legal basis – Legitimate interest: We will process your personal data to answer questions or resolve issues you may be experiencing in relation to the competition.
Duration – We will retain your personal data until the competition has concluded in order to ensure that competition queries and issues have been addressed.
