This pottery piece depicts a Stylized Deer skull, made from ceramic with a white crackle glaze. The fine cracks in the surface give the skull an aged, weathered look, suggesting time and therefore natural decay. Dark curved horns rise from the skull, adding a sense of strenght and life to the piece, reminding us that this deer once lived. Bright flowers made from recycled material are casually placed around the skull, this creates a strong contrast between hard bone and soft petals. Created for a nature project, the piece explores the cycle of life and death. It suggests renewal and regeneration showing how nature continues even after death.
