My finished piece is mixed media. I wanted to contrast the strong stoic facial features of the lion with the beauty and vibrance of it's magnificent mane surrounding it. I used pencil to draw the lion's eyes and face and acrylic paint for it's mane, using multiple colours to make it pop from the paper. I often do human portraits with pencil only so I really enjoyed using the paint to add colour.
