The inspiration for this artwork is the brilliant and varied colours of the meadows and fields of Ireland. I used a sponge, paintbrushes, acrylic paints and markers to create this piece. I did the hedgerows using paint and a sponge. I painted on thick layers of paint and dragged the paint with the back of the brush to create lines and circles, giving the fields texture. I dabbed white and purple paint on with the tip of the brush to create the clouds in the sky. I love animals and added as many as I could including a sheepdog, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, donkeys, horses, bees and beehives and ducks in the pond. There are apple trees, a waterfall, a forest and a field of wildflowers. The manmade elements are the farmers house, the doghouse, barn, silage bales and the field of planted crops. I spent around 15 hours over the past month working on this and I loved every minute of it. Being an artist is my dream.
