The inspiration for this piece came from my friend with a love for birds. When he taught me all about them I knew I had to draw a bird for this competition. But one bird seemed lonely all on its own, and another robin seemed unoriginal so I added a bunny to keep them company. I drew them in a log so they could stay sleeping together even if there's a storm. I added the grass, lake, moss and a forest in the distance to better improve my pencil skills, since I don't draw scenery often. But I want to keep working on it starting with this piece. I named it “Unlikely Friends” because a rabbit and a robin aren't often seen together. This piece symbolizes that no matter the size, shape or colour, you can be friends.
