When I painted this, I felt like it was night, but not a scary night. a secret night. The black background is the dark where quiet lives. In that dark, I scratched out colors because I wanted to show that even when everything looks dark, there are many colors hiding inside. The bird is sitting still, but inside it is very alive. I made its feathers with lots of lines because thoughts are never smooth. they go in many directions. When I scratched the colors out of the black, it felt like discovering treasure. I wanted to show that if you look closely and don’t give up, beautiful things appear. This picture is about being quiet, brave, and Colourful inside, even when the world looks dark.
