I wanted to paint the moment when it is just watching and thinking. The eye was the most important part for me, because I feel like the hawk’s eye shows its character. It looks calm, serious, and very focused, like it knows exactly who it is. While I was painting, I felt calm too. I used soft Colours because I didn’t want the hawk to look angry or scary. When I look at this painting, I feel like the hawk is a guardian. It is quiet, but it sees everything. I wanted people to slow down when they look at it and feel the same calm feeling I had while painting. I hope the hawk makes people feel strong inside, even without moving or making noise.
