I used clay to create a three-dimensional feeling for the waves and sea creatures because I see the ocean as powerful and constantly moving. Crayons were used to draw the beach and people, giving a more relaxed and everyday feeling, while collage makes the scene feel closer to real-life moments. I chose this theme because from land to sea they appear to be completely different worlds, yet people and animals coexist in harmony—this is nature. I hope that when people look at this artwork, they think about how, while we enjoy nature, other forms of life on Earth are living at the same time. Nature is not two separate worlds, but one whole that needs to be respected and protected.
