CommendationFor this piece, I was inspired by the works of Georgia OKeeffe and Salvador Dali. The 2 artists have such different styles and techniques that I wondered what kind of art I could create when combining their styles and themes. I started by using an animal skull as reference , then incorporating details inspired by Georgia OKeefes paintings and drawings of flowers. I used myself as the reference for the human corpse, by taking photos of myself on the floor. I then researched the structures of cow skeletons so my drawing would be as anatomically accurate as possible. I wanted to capture a surrealist scene where time doesn’t affect the usual process of death, and put my own twist on it.
