CommendationMy piece “my time” is showcasing a form of self-care. As a third year student learning how to balance studies, social life and sleep. I tend to forget about art and feel as though something is missing. “my time“ is a reminder of those peaceful moments; when I let myself forget about assignments,to do lists, chores and paint (usually through all hours of the night). I really wanted to create a mood and atmosphere. I was trying printmaking which at the time I had never done before. When making this I felt quite limited with such a tonal piece but I thought the challenge would be fun i’ve also always wanted to try printmaking (i’m so happy I got the chance ).I thought this would work perfectly in with this year‘s theme of inspiration. As I feel this encapsulates my relationship with art and inspiration. Pinterest is a daily tool, social media bombards me with constant ideas. Every day I feel as though this information overload almost kills my creativity. So getting back to basics and having “my time” sort of reignites my passion. This is my true inspiration. I hope you enjoy thank you for your time!
