Commendation

This idea came from a theme that my art class was given, which was ‘personal identity and cultural diversity’. I chose to go more towards the personal identity side of the theme and I thought that personal identity is such a complex thing, so I wanted to capture all the elements of it in my work. I included different words in my collage to represent aspects of a particular person’s personal identity. I also thought that the idea of a collage represents how complex personal identity can be too, because the collage is made up of many different images and of course the collage is an image of a face which can show a lot of emotions and expressions, which again links back to the theme.
